Police officers injured in Epsom street attack

A man has been charged with assault after two policewomen were attacked in the street in Epsom.

The women, based at Reigate police station, were treated in hospital but are expected to return to work within a week, according to Surrey Police.

One officer suffered a cut eye and a bruised face, and the other a sprained wrist as they dealt with an incident in Pine Hill, Epsom, on Sunday.

A man has been charged with assaulting the two officers.
