Three injured in Sunbury ambulance collision

Three people have been taken to hospital after an ambulance was in a collision with a car in Surrey.

No patients were on board the emergency vehicle when it crashed on the A308 Staines Road West, Sunbury-on-Thames.

The ambulance was left on its side following the collision with a black BMW at about 14:00 GMT.

The ambulance driver suffered minor injuries and a passenger in the vehicle suffered spinal injuries. The driver of the BMW suffered minor injuries.

It is not known if the ambulance was on an emergency call at the time of the crash.
