Five people arrested during Kent brothel raids

Five people have been arrested during a month-long crackdown on human trafficking in Kent.

Kent Police said the arrests followed raids on five suspected brothels in Sevenoaks, Maidstone, Margate, Tonbridge and Greenhithe.

Two women and two men, aged between 41 and 68, were held on suspicion of brothel offences.

Another man was detained by immigration officers during the raid in Margate.

Kent Police said officers carried out checks at massage parlours, car washes, traveller sites and takeaways between the end of September and beginning of November.

Seven Romanian nationals were discovered living in a freight container at a car wash in Canterbury and two men were detained on suspicion of immigration offences at a Chatham restaurant during the month.
