A woman with dementia from Surrey and her care worker dance partner have been highly commended in the final of a national dancing contest.

Vivien Manning, 83, and Craig Young, 21, were one of nine pairs taking part in the Strictly Come Dancing-style event run by care home operator Anchor.

The pair, from the Orchard Court care home in Lingfield, were dancing at the Rivoli ballroom in south east London.

Friday's contest was won by Roger Edwards and Minnie McAndrew, of Leeds.

The trophy was presented to the winning pair, from Larchfield care home, by TV presenter Angela Rippon.
