Guildford councillor Monika Juneja tried at crown court

A councillor accused of pretending to be a barrister will be tried at Guildford Crown Court.

Monika Juneja, 36, from Guildford, who used to be in charge of planning at Guildford Borough Council, was charged under the Legal Services Act.

She will also face two fraud charges and three charges under the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act.

She appeared at Guildford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday and entered no plea.

She has been bailed until 19 September.
