Crimestoppers offers reward after fourth arson attack

A £2,000 reward is being offered after the fourth arson attack in Reigate and Horley in Surrey in 10 days.

The latest fire broke out in an empty house being renovated in Massetts Road, Horley, early on Tuesday.

It is believed to be linked to fires at the Old Reigatian Rugby Club, Churchfields Bowls Club and Horley Lawn Tennis Club between 22 and 28 June.

The tennis club, which was nearly finished after four years of fundraising, was destroyed.

"Significant damage" was caused in each fire, a Surrey Police spokesman said.

All the fires broke out in the early hours of the morning.

Insp Andy Rundle asked anyone with information to contact the force, and local sports clubs have been advised to be on their guard and report any suspicious activity immediately.

The case is due to be featured on BBC One's Crimewatch Roadshow at 09:15 BST on Friday.

The reward has been put up by Crimestoppers for information which leads to the arrest and charge of the culprit.
