Dog owner sought after Surrey woman mauled

A woman from Staines-on-Thames was left with severe injuries when she was mauled by a dog.

The 45-year-old had been walking on her land near Hithermoor Quarry, Stanwell Moor, with a guard dog when she saw a man with a Staffordshire bull terrier on her driveway.

Police said the man let the dog off the lead and it attacked the woman, leading to her requiring plastic surgery.

The attack occurred on 28 May at around 18:30 BST.

Surrey Police have now appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

The man is described as white with short light coloured hair, about 20-years-old, of slim build, and 5ft 10in (1.78m) tall.

Det Con Claire Landon called the incident an "atrocious attack".
