The victim, in his 40s, is in hospital in a stable condition after the attack in Hardwick Lane, Lyne, on Saturday.

Surrey Police officers want to speak to a man seen leaving in a silver 4x4 vehicle soon after the attack.

He is described as white, 6ft tall, with cropped dark hair, and aged in his late thirties to early forties. Police have appealed for witnesses.
