Sledgehammer robbers raid Cranleigh jewellery store

A gang of robbers smashed jewellery display cabinets with sledgehammers before making off with stock worth thousands of pounds.

Four men in balaclavas and hoods drove up to the Jon Dibben shop at Smithbrook Kilns in Cranleigh at about 12:45 GMT, before raiding the store.

They drove off in a red Volvo, which was later found burned out in Stovolds Hill.

Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
