Ripley car firm fire 'started deliberately'

A fire that destroyed several cars at a vehicle hire firm is believed to have been started deliberately.

About 25 firefighters were called to Methold Motor Company, Portsmouth Road, Ripley, at about 06.30 BST on Friday.

Surrey Police said no-one was injured but they were treating the blaze as suspicious and appealed for witnesses.

A spokesman for the firm said the cars that were set alight were to the side of the main fleet and the fire had not stopped them trading.
