Two seriously hurt in Blindley Heath pony and trap crash

Two people have suffered broken necks in a crash between their pony and trap and a car on the A22 in Surrey.

A man, in his 40s, and a woman in her 30s from Croydon, in south London, were both thrown from the trap at Blindley Heath on Friday night.

Police said the Volvo estate car was being driven by a man in his 60s from Buckinghamshire, who was uninjured.

Any witnesses to the collision which happened just after 19:30 BST, are asked to contact officers.
