Tributes to teenager attacked in Addlestone park
The family and friends of a 17-year-old boy who died following an assault in a Surrey park have paid tribute to him.
John Beaumont, the youngest of five brothers, was attacked in a park near Burleigh Road in Addlestone on Monday afternoon.
The teenager had just been offered a place as an apprentice mechanic at a truck company, his brother Nick said.
His eldest brother, Chris, said: "He was always smiling and always up for a laugh."
John suffered serious head injuries and was taken to St George's hospital in London, where he died on Tuesday afternoon.
Another 17-year-old boy from Chertsey has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
