Arrests after pedestrian hit by car in Godalming

Two people have been arrested after a pedestrian was hit by a car and seriously injured in Surrey.

A black Chevrolet hit the man at just after 11:20 BST on Thursday in Peperharow Road in Godalming.

A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and a 21-year-man was arrested on suspicion of affray.

"It is also reported that the driver of the vehicle was involved in an altercation," a police spokesman said.

The two men remain in custody.
