Charges made against 17 after Woking drugs raids

A total of 17 people have been charged with burglary and drugs offences after a series of police raids in Surrey.

About 200 officers were involved in the raids on 15 addresses across Woking that began at 05:30 GMT on Thursday.

Surrey Police said Operation Hibiscus was intended to tackle the supply of illegal Class A drugs. Cash, drugs and stolen property were seized.

All 17 people charged were due to appear at Guildford Magistrates' Court.

The raids were carried out in Sheerwater, Maybury, Goldsworth Park, Westfield, Horsell and Mount Hermon following several months of intelligence gathering, police said.
