Warning after spate of car thefts in Surrey

A series of car thefts by offenders who broke into owners' homes and stole the keys is being investigated.

Surrey Police said four vehicles had been taken in Esher, Warlingham and Camberley, since Saturday.

Det Supt Maria Woodall said residents should not keep their car keys on display near windows and doors.

She said: "By having to search, the offender is putting themselves at risk of being caught and knows that their search may be fruitless."
