A man has been jailed for life after pleading guilty to the murder of a man who was found dead at his Surrey flat.
The body of John Dowling, 56, was found at his home in Abell Court, Brighton Road, Addlestone, on 7 February. He was last seen two days earlier.
A post-mortem examination found he died of multiple injuries.
Shane Walker, a 22-year-old unemployed man from Addlestone, was sentenced at Guildford Crown Court, and told he would serve a minimum of 15 years.
Senior investigating officer Jo Sidaway, of Surrey Police, described it as "a brutal attack for which Shane Walker had never revealed a motive or shown any remorse".
