Surrey folk have been marking the birth of baseball, as part of the run up to the 2012 Olympics.

Members of the Guildford Mavericks re-enacted the first-ever baseball game which was played in Surrey in 1755.

Although not normally a game associated with this side of the Atlantic, the earliest verified reference to baseball anywhere is believed to be in Surrey.
