Hungry thieves stop for breakfast at Oxshott cafe

Burglars who broke into a railway station cafe in Surrey and emptied the till, helped themselves to toast before leaving.

British Transport Police officers were called to Oxshott railway station early on Thursday morning after reports of the overnight burglary at Cafe Nesta.

They found crumbs, used cutlery and open jars of Nutella chocolate spread and Marmite.

Officers said a small amount of cash had also been taken from the till.

Police said the thieves also took several packets of crisps, some sweets and a box of chewing gum.

Pc Gemma Lee said: "It appears that someone forced entry into the café overnight, with a small amount of cash being taken from the till inside.

"We are currently conducting local inquiries to try and establish who may have been responsible."
