Elderly nun hit by car in Redhill dies in hospital


An elderly nun who was seriously injured when she was hit by a car in Surrey has died in hospital.

Sister Denise Wood, 83, was treated at East Surrey Hospital after being struck by a Vauxhall Astra on the A23 London Road, Redhill, on 31 October.

Surrey Police said Sister Denise, of Redhill, died in hospital on Wednesday.

The driver of the car, a 70-year-old man from Northampton, was unhurt. Officers have appealed for any witnesses to contact the force.
