Woman rescued from house fire in Epsom


A man and woman were rescued by crews after a fire broke out at a house.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to reports of a fire at Bracken Cottage in Bracken Path, Epsom, at 1100 GMT.

About 20 firefighters tackled the blaze, which damaged up to 80% of the ground floor of the property. Crews remain dampening down at the scene.

A spokesman said a man rescued from the property had been taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
