Surrey Heath Borough Council trials 24-hour phone help

An automated telephone system is being trialled by Surrey Heath Borough Council over the next six months.

The local authority said the service would offer telephone information 24 hours a day, was simple to use, and would not have a waiting queue.

A spokeswoman said it was a self-service system and customer service advisors would be available during office hours from Monday to Friday.

She added that jobs were currently not at risk.
