Police draw blank over Leatherhead drowning
Three months after a man was found drowned in a Surrey river, police have said they are no closer to finding out what happened to him.
David William Agnew's body was recovered from the River Mole in Leatherhead on 8 August.
Det Sgt Eddie Poole said all potential leads had failed to help officers establish why Mr Agnew was in the town.
Mr Agnew was well-known in Epsom and Ewell and used to frequent The Assembly Rooms pub in Epsom High Street.
Police said there was a possible sighting of him close to the Kings Arms, in East Street, Epsom, on 7 August.
They also believe he may have been planning to meet someone to watch the Community Shield football match between Chelsea and Manchester United the next day.
"If you do remember seeing Mr Agnew at any point over those three days, then please get in touch," Det Sgt Eddie Poole said.
A post-mortem examination revealed the cause of Mr Agnew's death was consistent with drowning.
