Man seriously injured in Camberley attack

A 53-year-old man suffered serious injuries when he walked past a Surrey pub and was attacked.

Police said the victim was walking past the Duke of Clarence pub on the A30 in Camberley with his partner when the incident happened.

A man outside the pub threw a glass at him and then approached and punched him, knocking him to the ground.

The victim lost a front tooth in the attack on Saturday in the early hours. A man has been arrested and bailed.

Appealing for witnesses, Det Con Chris Greatorex said the attack happened at about 0020 BST.

He said: "This was a nasty, apparently unprovoked assault which resulted in the victim losing a front tooth and now facing significant dental treatment bills to put it right.

"We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault, or the events leading up to it."
