Thieves attack man as he walks home in Guildford

A man suffered a cut lip and bruising to his face and elbow after he was assaulted by two thieves in Surrey.

The 18-year-old was punched twice, causing him to fall to the ground, as he walked home in the Woodbridge Road area of Guildford early on Tuesday.

One of the thieves took a mobile phone and wallet from the victim's pocket.

Police said they were keen to speak to the occupants of a silver car which the victim tried to flag down in Walnut Tree Close after the attack.

The suspects were both described as black, of average build, and aged in their early 20s.

One had a London accent and was clean shaven, and was wearing dark jeans and a black coat with a corded hood which was pulled tight over his face.

The other man was also wearing dark jeans and a dark top and hood which was up and partially covering his face.
