Thieves steal tools worth £8,000 from Surrey site
Machinery and tools worth about £8,000 have been stolen from a building site in Horley, Surrey.
Surrey Police said the thieves broke into a property in Balcombe overnight on Wednesday and Thurdsay.
Tools and machinery including a hydraulic breaker and power pack worth £3,300 and a laser-level worth £1,000 were taken.
Officers have appealed to the building trade and DIY enthusiasts for information.
Det Cons Ian Chadwick said: "Power tools are always an attractive commodity for a thief which is why we encourage people to security mark all of their valuable possessions.
"The tools are incredibly valuable and I am sure the offender will try to sell them on at a heavily reduced price.
"If you are in the trade and are offered cheap tools, or perhaps you are a DIY enthusiast and someone tries to sell you discount machinery, please let us know as they may have been stolen from this site."
