Part of a major trunk road was closed after a person was seriously injured in a lorry crash.

The A11 northbound between Mildenhall and Elveden in Suffolk was shut for six hours on Sunday morning.

It followed a crash in which a car went into the back of a heavy goods lorry near Fiveways roundabout in Barton Mills, at about 05:20 BST, police said.

Police said the road had to be closed while a 400m-long (1,300ft) oil spillage was cleared from the scene.

The road has now fully reopened. Officers have urged any witnesses to contact the Suffolk force.
