Two people who were killed in an explosion at a bungalow have been named by police as a mother and daughter.

Pamela Tierney, 78, and Julie Tierney, 50, died after a series of blasts at the property in The Street in Lidgate, near Newmarket, Suffolk, on Tuesday.

Pamela Tierney died as a result of natural causes and Julie as a result of inhalation of fire fumes, police said.

Suffolk Police said Home Office post-mortem examinations took place on Saturday.

"The deaths are not being treated as suspicious and a file will now be prepared for the coroner," the force said in a statement.

"Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

"Inquiries by police and fire service investigators have concluded at the scene, but the investigation is ongoing and it is too early to comment on the possible cause of the explosions."
