Beccles go-kart death: Man named as Allan Fairweather
A man killed when he was thrown from a kart was taking part in a family fun day.
The man, who has been named as Allan Fairweather, 63, of Lowestoft, died in the incident at Ellough Park Raceway, near Beccles, Suffolk.
An investigation into his death is to be led by Waveney District Council's safety team.
In a statement, Mr Fairweather's family said he was taking part in a family karting event when tragedy struck.
"Everyone taking part was a family member," the statement said.
"There was a collision on the track between two go-karts, which tragically resulted in Allan's death."
The family said the person driving the other go-kart suffered an arm injury.
The statement added: "The family are grateful for the kind messages of condolence they have received so far, but would like their privacy respected at this difficult time."
Waveney District Council said a preliminary examination of the track had taken place.
It said it will undertake a "detailed" and "thorough" investigation.
