Pedestrian dead after Nowton car collision

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Suffolk.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, was hit by the vehicle at about 08:00 GMT near Nowton Park at Nowton, near Bury St Edmunds.

The air ambulance was called and paramedics attended to the man, but he died at the scene.

Bury Road and the park remain closed while Suffolk Police investigate the incident. The force has appealed for any witnesses to get in touch.
