Leiston man 'died from neck compression'

A murder inquiry has been launched into a death of an elderly man after a post-mortem examination found the victim died due to "compression of the neck".

Officers were contacted at about 09:15 BST on Monday after reports that the body of a man had been found at a house in Grimsey Road, Leiston, Suffolk.

The Home Office post-mortem examination took place at Ipswich Hospital.

Formal identification of the body is expected to take place on Wednesday.
