Stowmarket teacher Derek Cable denies child sex offences

A former schools music teacher has denied child sex offences alleged to taken place in the 1970s.

Derek Cable, 74, of Albany Court, Hastings, East Sussex, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court facing three charges of indecent assault against one boy between 1975 and 1976.

Mr Cable was the founder and former leader of the Stowmarket Schools Concert Band and also taught at Stowmarket Middle School.

He is due to face trial in August.
