Halesworth car crash: Driver named as John Veitch, 88

A man who died when the car he was driving hit a building in Suffolk has been named.

John Veitch, 88, from Southwold, was pronounced dead at the scene of crash at the junction of Bridge Street and The Thoroughfare, in Halesworth.

Mr Veitch was the only person in the Volvo car. No-one was injured inside the building, which was struck on Thursday afternoon.

A structural engineer has visited the site to make sure the building is safe.
