Lowestoft crash: Samantha Pitcher pleads not guilty to causing road death

A woman has pleaded not guilty to causing death by careless driving after a pedestrian was killed in Lowestoft.

David Wright, 74, from Gainsborough Drive in the town, died after being struck by a car as he crossed Yarmouth Road at about 21:00 GMT on 18 February.

Samantha Pitcher, 28, of Maidstone Road, Lowestoft, is accused of driving a Renault Megane without due care and attention.

She was bailed and is due for trial at Ipswich Crown Court on 3 March.

Mr Wright's wife, who is in her 70s, was injured in the accident, but a man and two children who were crossing the road with the couple were unhurt.
