Ipswich attempted murder charge after attack on woman

A 51-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault on a woman in Ipswich.

The victim was found unconscious at a property in Garrick Way on Friday afternoon and taken to Ipswich Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The woman, who is in her 40s, remains in a critical but stable condition.

Lianjun Sun, of Cromer Road, has been charged with attempted murder. He was remanded in custody and is due before magistrates on Tuesday.

Police were called to Garrick Way at about 15:20 GMT on Friday.

A 55-year-old man, who was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, is due to answer police bail on 3 December in connection with the inquiry.
