Police have been granted extra time to question a 33-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman arrested over the discovery of a body in a Suffolk park.

The two were arrested on suspicion of the murder of Christopher Thompson, 29, whose body was found at Chantry Park in Ipswich on Thursday morning.

A police superintendent has granted detectives 12 more hours to question the two people.

Officers can later apply to magistrates for further time, a spokesman said.

The man and woman, both of no fixed abode, were arrested in Ipswich on Friday afternoon.

Mr Thompson lived on London Road in Ipswich.

A 42-year-old man from Ipswich arrested on Thursday in connection with the murder has been bailed to return to police on Tuesday 8 January.
