Former special constable from Ipswich bailed

A former Suffolk special constable facing rape and sexual assault charges has been given conditional bail by magistrates.

Andrew Barber, 26, of Netley Close, Ipswich, is accused of raping a girl in 2003 and sexually assaulting another teenager in 2010.

Mr Barber, who is a factory worker, was suspended by Suffolk Police after his arrest in December.

He is due to appear at Norwich Crown Court on 10 August.
