Burglary probe at fire-hit Lowestoft hotel

A Suffolk hotel which suffered extensive damage in a fire could have been broken into shortly before, the fire service has said.

Emergency services were called to the Sunrise Inn in Corton Road, Lowestoft, shortly after 0100 GMT and spent about two hours tackling the flames.

When the fire had been put out it appeared someone may have forced their way in at the back of the building.

The fire caused "extensive damage" a fire service spokesman said.
