Thieves have stolen three tawny owls from a falconry centre.

The theft follows a series of break-ins at Kingsley Bird and Falconry Centre, near Stoke-on-Trent, police said.

The offenders cut through padlocks to gain access to the centre's aviary. Over the past fortnight, 40 chickens have also been stolen.

Officers were alerted to the latest theft at 17:00 GMT on Monday. Anyone with information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police.
