Three people had a lucky escape when a car careered into a petrol station kiosk, shattering a window and knocking over shelves.

The 71-year-old male driver was shaken but unhurt following the crash at a filling station on Heath Way, Cannock, Staffordshire, during the afternoon.

Two people inside the kiosk were treated by ambulance staff, with one man hit by a shelf.

All three people involved were discharged at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said when crews arrived they find a green Jaguar had hit the front of the kiosk. A large window had been shattered.

"Clearly, this had the potential to be a much worse incident and it is fortunate that no-one was hurt," he said.
