Mark Hackett to leave role as Staffordshire NHS trust boss
The head of University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is leaving his role, the BBC has learned.
Mark Hackett oversaw the merging of what was North Staffordshire and Stafford hospitals, and the formation of the new NHS Trust he runs.
He said the job of chief executive of the trust, which was formed in November 2014, had been rewarding but intense.
Stafford Hospital, which is now County Hospital, was at the centre of a £6m public inquiry into care failings.
In July, the Care Quality Commission's first inspection of the trust found it required improvement, although it did compliment some areas of its care.
