Kidsgrove swimming pool shut by roof weather damage
A Staffordshire swimming pool has been closed after rain and severe winds caused damage to its roof.
Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council said the damage at Kidsgrove Sports centre would be assessed and the pool would only reopen when it was safe to do so.
Swimming lessons in the main pool have been suspended and will start again when the pool reopens.
Other areas, including the small pool, were available as usual.
Half-term activities already planned for the sports hall, astroturf pitches and the studio remained unaffected and Castle Gym was open for business.
The authority said Staffordshire County Council would carry out a survey to assess the extent of damage.
