Welcome to our Things To Do guide - our selection of events in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and South Cheshire.

Of all the many things going on over the next couple of weeks, we've picked a few of the following highlights.

Forthcoming events include Christmas classics such as Alice in Wonderland, A Christmas Carol, Aladdin and a Dick Whittington rock 'n' roll panto.

Things to do...

A new production of Alice in Wonderland, adapted for the stage by the theatre's artist director, Theresa Heskins, will run until Saturday 21 January at the New Vic in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The children's classic by Lewis Carroll will mark the award-winning theatre-in-the-round's 25th anniversary, and presents an Alice hailing from Stoke-on-Trent.

A cast of 12 features New Vic favourite Michael Hugo as the Mad Hatter, Hannah Edwards as Alice, Charlotte Palmer as the White Queen and Devon Black as the Red Queen.

In the east of the county, the Wayfarers Pantomime Society are celebrating their 50th anniversary at Burton's Brewhouse Theatre.

They will be performing their version of Cinderella several times a day from Sunday 15 January - Saturday 21 January.

Or this:

At the Regent Theatre in Hanley, this year's panto is Aladdin, starring Eastenders actor - and King of the Jungle - Joe Swash.

The opening night is Thursday 15 December and it runs until Sunday 15 January.

And finally:

This year's pantomime at the Gatehouse Theatre in Stafford is a rock 'n' roll musical.

From Thursday 8 December until Saturday 7 January, you can join Dick Whittington and Taffeta the cat as they head to London in search of fame and fortune.
