A second man has been arrested in connection with a robbery at the home of businessman John Caudwell.

Mr Caudwell's home, Broughton Hall, near Eccleshall, was raided while he and his partner were at home on 1 November.

Staffordshire Police said a 33-year-old man from Merseyside had been arrested on Monday morning.

A number of inquiries took place at addresses in the Wigan area during the weekend, a police spokesman said.

A 48-year-old man from Liverpool has previously been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and released on bail.

Police have released photographs of jewellery stolen during the burglary.

Mr Caudwell, the former head of Phones4U, was cut on his forehead and elbow when a group of men broke into his home.
