Man killed after car leaves road in Haughton

A 21-year-old man has died and three left seriously injured after a car left the road in Staffordshire.

Paramedics declared the man dead at the scene, in a field just off the A518 at Haughton at about 0320 GMT.

Three others, the 22-year-old male driver and two women aged 19 and 20, also suffered serious head, pelvis and leg injuries respectively, say police.

All were transferred by ambulance to University Hospital North Staffordshire for treatment.
