A man has died a week after he was attacked outside a South Yorkshire pub.

Darron Januszkiewicz, 35, suffered life-threatening injuries after he was assaulted outside the White Hart pub on High Street, Askern, near Doncaster, in the early hours of 30 May.

He was taken to hospital where he remained in a critical condition but died on Monday.

A 34-year-old man was charged on 31 May with wounding in connection with the incident.

James Harvey, of Christchurch Road, Wath-upon-Dearne, is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on 29 June.

He was granted conditional bail when he appeared before magistrates in Doncaster on 1 June.

South Yorkshire Police said Mr Januszkiewicz was a local man who was married with two small children.

Officers have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
