Two arrested in Rotherham over slavery offences

Two people have been arrested in Rotherham in connection with offences under the Modern Slavery Act.

Police said the arrests, in the Masbrough area on Wednesday, followed concerns about the welfare of a young person.

A man, 35, and woman, 19, were held on suspicion of arranging the travel of another person with a view to exploiting them. Both have been bailed.

The victim was being given specialist support, South Yorkshire Police said.
