Man in court over Sheffield New Year's Eve murder
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 41-year-old man in Sheffield on New Year's Eve.
Zabair Hussain was discovered badly injured at 23:23 GMT on Staniforth Road, in Darnall, where he later died.
Idris Sadiq, 30, of Darnall Road, appeared at Sheffield Magistrate's Court where he was remanded to appear at the city's crown court next month.
Two other men arrested in connection with the incident have been released on bail.
A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Hussain died from multiple injuries.
The force has appealed for help to trace a car believed to be linked to the incident.
Det Ch Insp Steve Handley said: "I'm confident that the offenders arrived at the crime scene in a Peugeot 307, its grey in colour the registration number is MC57 BZP.
"I want to know where is that vehicle now, where has it been since New Year's Eve and who was using the vehicle on New Year's Eve.
"The offenders have used that vehicle to arrive at the scene and also to leave the scene following the attack on Zabair."
A 28-year-old man also arrested on suspicion of murder and a 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving have both been released on bail.
Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, Mr Hussain's relatives said his death "has torn us apart and left our hearts broken".
