Man in court over Doncaster tent arson attack
A man has appeared in court in connection with an arson attack on a tent which resulted in two people suffering extensive burns.
Jason Vicarage appeared at Doncaster Magistrates' Court charged with arson with intent to endanger life.
Two people were injured when a tent pitched on land near College Road, Doncaster, was set alight on 18 August.
Mr Vicarage, 23, of no fixed abode, was remanded in custody to appear at Sheffield Crown Court later this year.
South Yorkshire Police said a second man, 21-year-old Ricky Lee Andrewatha was arrested at the same time as Mr Vicarage on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
A force spokesman said Mr Andrewatha had been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Three other men, aged 29, 28 and 20, who were arrested in connection with the incident remain on police bail.
