A man who died after being found with gunshot wounds on wasteland in Sheffield has been named.

South Yorkshire Police said detectives believed Grant Bodell, 23, from Sheffield, was the victim of a targeted attack.

Emergency services were called to the site on Queen Mary Road in the Manor area of the city at about 02:20 BST on Sunday.

Mr Bodell was taken to hospital where he died a short time later.

District Commander for Sheffield, Ch Supt David Hartley, said he thought Mr Bodell's murder was an isolated incident.

He said: "Although we are in the very early stages of this investigation and are very much keeping an open mind as to the circumstances, we do believe that this was a targeted attack and that members of the public should not be unduly alarmed."
