Dewsbury woman admits Sheffield cyclist death crash

A 26-year-old driver has pleaded guilty to causing the death of a cyclist in Sheffield by dangerous driving.

Eric Codling, 55, from Millhouses in the city, was hit by Emma Egan as he cycled along Whirlowdale Road last November.

Egan, of Dewsbury, also faces charges of driving over the prescribed limit, failing to stop and failing to report a road traffic collision.

She will be sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on 17 July.

In November, Mr Codling's widow, Karen, told BBC Radio Sheffield: "[The driver] has just wiped his life out and ruined ours forever.

"We were a team and half of the team has gone."
